  • CNN Money CNN hosts current events and market news.
  • NASDAQ Official site of The NASDAQ Stock Market featuring free stock quotes, and stock market news.
  • MarketWatch Research stocks with a slightly different approach from Yahoo Finance.
  • Yahoo Finance – A ‘must’ for research. This site will give you up-to-date information about each company, their history and company profile.
  •  Big Charts  This is an interactive online charting service giving free and unlimited access to charts, reports, indicators, and quotes on 22,700 US stocks, mutual funds, and much more.

  • 10 Excellent beginning mini lessons for the Stock Market Game; This You Tube site has 10 very good, short video clips to help you, the teacher in introducing the Stock Market Game.  Click here. 
  • A Random Walk Down Wall Street, explains the random-walk hypothesis of efficient markets and outlines a procedure for testing the hypothesis.
  • Ascent of Money  This media-enhanced lesson utilizes clips from the PBS series THE ASCENT OF MONEY.  Students will be introduced to the concepts of companies, the ownership shares offered by some companies to increase capital and distribute profits and risks, and the stock markets in which such shares are publicly traded as investments.
  • Take this quiz to get an idea as to your "risk tolerance"  Click Here.  This material is from the University of Missouri.   This is a very fundamental issue to consider when planning your investment strategy.
  • The Mint  This informative website includes  information for students including: What is the Stock Market, Ways to Invest and Risks and Rewards.  Website also includes information for tweens, parents and ideas for teachers.
  • Learning, Earning and Investing; This publication contains 21 lessons that provide active learning experiences to help students master the basics of investing. Lessons cover basics such as the language of financial markets, gathering information on investments, and the nature of financial institutions in the U.S. economy.
  • Build Your STAX; This is a free,  fun game which teaches participants how to grow wealth over a 20 year period in 20 minutes.  We strongly recommend this as a capstone activity to playing the Stock Market Game.  Here is a link to the website; https://buildyourstax.com/ 

Stock Market Game; Pre and Post Tests

You will need to go to the Stock Market Game  web site (click here), and then do a site search for "pre and post tests".  Tests are available for elementary, middle and high school aged students.
