2019 - 2020 Economics Teacher of the Year

Alex Roscher, Ashland High School

Alexandra Roscher has spent fourteen years teaching AP Macro, Business, Engineering and Mathematics. Teaching at Ashland high school in Ashland, OR, she also coaches the Robotics team. Her husband, her mother and her grandmother are all educators. Her children read AP Macro textbooks to fall asleep at night. Alex loves teaching AP Macro because of its relevance. Every morning, there is something on the news that relates to the day’s concepts. She feels as though students enjoy understanding the mystery behind the markets, how economics drives politics, the psychology behind regulations, and how their own financial well-beings are impacted by economic decisions.
